MS/PhD Opportunities
Projects are available for PhD and MS students in the following areas.
- Magneto-optical properties of van der Waals heterostructures
- Strain-dependent optical properties of layered materials
- Phase change materials
- Twistronics of unconventional layered materials
- Non-linear optics
PhD students in the Vora Lab primarily gain experience in the physics of low-dimensional systems and quantum materials, optical instrumentation, hardware automation via LabView, machine learning via Python, scientific writing through publications, and scientific communication through talks at conferences.
Please email Dr. Vora if you would like to learn more and apply.
Undergraduate Projects
Projects are available for undergraduate students:
- Machine learning identification of atomically-thin materials
- Automatic assembly of heterostructures
- Optical characterization of quantum materials
- Fabrication and testing of electronic devices.
Undergraduates in the Vora Lab gain experience in a variety of valuable research skills and in some cases have published papers and presented at conferences.
